Hamburger Soup

1 ½ lbs. hamburger
½ cup green peppers, diced
½ cup celery
½ cup onion, diced

Brown hamburger and vegetables, drain off excess fat and add:

1 quart whole tomatoes, chopped 
2 ½ cup carrots, grated
2 or 3 medium potatoes, cubed
½ cup rice
1 tea salt
1 tea sugar 
1 clove garlic


Bring to a boil and simmer until the rice is tender, about 20 minutes.
